Scholarships Jean-Guy Béliveau, P.E. MATHCOUNTS Scholarship
The Jean-Guy Béliveau, P.E. MATHCOUNTS Scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior who formerly participated as a competitor in the MATHCOUNTS program and who has been accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college or university. The scholarship is awarded in one disbursement of $3,000.
Through the NSPE Educational Foundation, the family of Jean-Guy Béliveau with the assistance of: the National Society of Professional Engineers, MATHCOUNTS and the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers, established the Jean-Guy Béliveau MATHCOUNTS Scholarship Fund to attract and recruit highly qualified students who are committed to a career in engineering. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis. Dr. Jean-Guy Béliveau was well known in the field of engineering for his commitment to the engineering profession and to the National Society of Professional Engineers. This fund was established to ensure that Jean-Guy Béliveau's enthusiasm for educational excellence and professional development live on through recipients of this award. As a suitable tribute to Dr. Béliveau's commitment as the Vermont MATHCOUNTS coordinator for many years, the scholarship will be awarded to an aspiring engineering student who participated in the MATHCOUNTS program, which seeks to inspire excellence, confidence and curiosity in middle school students through fun and challenging math programs. |
