B. Don Russell, P.E.B. Don Russell, P.E., F.NSPE, has been awarded the title of distinguished professor by Texas A&M in acknowledgment of his high-profile career in engineering. Russell is the Harry E. Bovay chair at Texas A&M and past president of the IEEE Power and Energy Society. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Texas A&M and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
 
Ronald Hill, P.E.The University of Kansas's School of Engineering has conferred the title of Distinguished Alumni Mechanical Engineer of the Year to Ronald Hill, P.E. He is the president of HEMCO Corp. (Hill Engineering and Manufacturing Co.) and a founding member of the Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association. Hill has been instrumental in the research and development of laboratory
equipment for 50 years.
 
George Jamison, P.E.George Jamison, P.E., has received the 2009 Community Service Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies. Jamison works on a number of state government efforts as the chair of the Great Lakes Regional Technical Advisory Committee and as a member of the Illinois Regulations and Site Remediation Advisory Committee. He also participates in Engineers Without Borders, a nonprofit that brings students and professional engineers together to create solutions for struggling international communities.
Gerald Jakubowski, P.E.The California Maritime Academy, a campus in the California State University system, has selected Gerald Jakubowski, P.E., to be the new provost. He has been involved in education at such institutions as the University of Memphis, Loyola Marymount University, and Arizona State University. Jakubowski earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering at the University of Toledo.
 
Kyle Grandusky, P.E.Kyle Grandusky, P.E., has been appointed to serve on the Palm Beach County (Florida) Water Resources Task Force-Working Group. The group is a subcommittee that provides technical support on regional issues, which include future water supply, water conservation, wastewater treatment, and water reuse. Grandusky is an employee of Engenuity Group and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
 
Jeffrey Miller, P.E.Jeffrey Miller, P.E., recently attained the certification of SCOR/P, or Supply Chain Operations Reference Professional. Miller is the founder and principal of Productivity Engineering Services, located in Livonia, Michigan. This certification requires five years of first-hand experience. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and his master's degree from the University of Michigan; both degrees were in industrial and systems engineering.
